Skipping Stone Presents on Japan Energy Retail at the 12th Annual TEPA Two-Day Conference

DALLAS, TEXAS  – October 4, 2017 – Skipping Stone LLC™, a global energy markets consulting and technology services firm, announced today that its Principal John Landry will present on the Japan Retail Energy Market during the 12th Annual Energy Professionals Association (TEPA) Conference.  This interactive, informational event will be held in Dallas, TX, at the Ritz-Carlton, on Wednesday, October 4th through Thursday, October 5th, 2017.

Mr. Landry’s presentation entitled, “Japan Opportunities for Retailers and Brokers” is scheduled at 1:45 p.m. on the second day of the conference during the International sessions.  His presentation covers the background of electric and natural gas retail market liberalization in Japan, the wholesale market structures, and how retailers and brokers can take advantage of these opportunities.

“The Japan retail energy markets are moving quickly with expanding product options from retailers looking to gain traction and market share,” said Mr. Landry.  “Customers in Japan will definitely need the help of brokers and consultants as the market continues to develop and as it becomes more complex.”

“Japan hasn’t yet adopted the US model for energy procurement professionals and their interaction with both C&I customers and retailers,” said Mr. Sumitaka “Sam” Matsumoto, Skipping Stone Managing Director, Japan. “I believe the timing is right– now that the market has been fully open 18 months– for this model in Japan.”

Skipping Stone Webinar on International Retail Market Opportunities

ATLANTA, GA – August 3, 2017 – Skipping Stone LLC™, a global energy markets consulting and technology services firm, announced today that John Landry, Skipping Stone Principal and author of the International Retail Energy Markets Report, will provide insights from the report and respond to questions regarding opportunities for retailers exploring expansion into international retail markets in a free ‘15 Minutes That Matter’ webinar, held on Friday, August 4th, at Noon EST.

According to Mr. Landry, “The retail energy markets in the US have reached maturity and many of the leading retailers are now looking to international markets for growth.  One of the challenges when beginning to explore international expansion is where and how to gather relevant information.  While Google is the go-to place to start, even that has limitations as many regulators and market operators don’t put much on the web, or it isn’t in English.  Having spent several months researching to develop our report, I believe we can now provide the tool retailers need to begin assessing which of the many international markets have potential.”

Skipping Stone’s ‘15 Minutes That Matter’ free webinar series is a terrific way to get insights on relevant topics of the day.  The format is an interview style question and answer session with a Skipping Stone market expert.  Webinar participants are encouraged to ask questions.
